Keeping pace with the transition in the technological era and following the footprints of the Central government initiative, the much awaited Atal Tinkering Lab was inaugurated at asava International School,Dwarka on 15th February 2020. Dr.Nahar Singh,Senior Principal Scientist,National Physical Laboratorygraced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Prof.DulalGoldar, Former Principal,Delhi College of Engineering was invited as the Guest of Honour. ATL is an approach of NitiAayog to create an environment of scientific temperament, innovation and creativity amongst Students.ATL lab would teach students essential 21st-century skills which will help them in developing their professional and personal skills. The event commenced with the ribbon cutting and the traditional lamp lighting ceremony by the dignitaries.The choir group of the school sang the prayer song.The school Principal,Dr.Manimala Roy welcomed the guests and provided an insight to the Tinkering lab and the role it would play to enhance hands-on experiments and experiential learning of the students.

The middle school students staged a thought provoking skit on Artificial Intelligence and how it could augment human ability.Dr.Nahar Singh addressed the students and implored them to analyse the need of the hour to create resources that are useful to mankind. He also motivated the students and urged them to kindle their scientific spirit, for experimenting. Prof.DulalGoldarcomplimented the students for their effort and questioned them about their aspirations.Anshuman of class 10, explained about the use of the Solar lamps that were exhibited in the lab and advised the audience to use alternative sources of energy like solar energy to reduce carbon footprints. The display of 3D-printing biodegradable projects made by the students was commended by the guests.The students also explained about the working models in the laband their utility value.Out of the models displayed, the ones that were highly appreciated by the Chief Guest,visitors and parents were the Smart Dustbins which used Arduino Uno technology, Distance Estimator, Mobile Controlled Cart for the elderly and the Line Controlled Car for the blind. The initiative was highly applauded and the dignitaries eulogized the school for taking a step forward toprovide students an immersive experience in Science and innovation.
