Basava International School,Sector 23,Dwarka celebrated Basava Jayanti on 7th May to commemorate the birth anniversary of Vishwaguru Basavanna who was a great revolutionary, social reformer and philosopher of the 12th century A.D .The resilient pillars of his vision paved the way to establish a strong foundation for the school.

A special assembly was organised by class 6 students highlighting his preachings and ideals which are followed by the school to date. The event started with the lamp lighting ceremony by the school General Manager,Ms.Poornima Ambli and Principal,Dr.Manimala Roy. Children sang a melodious prayer song based on Basava Vachanas followed by a thought provoking skit showcasing the life of Basavanna and his war against social evils. The programme was interspersed with the narrators reiterating the precepts and Vachanas of Lord Basaveshwara. The show culminated with a spectacular dance performance completely resplendent with colourful attires. The school Principal lauded the children for the event and urged them to maintain discipline and focus in their life, by following the tenets delineated by the Vishwaguru.
