KLE Society celebrates its centenary

Striving towards excellence and equipping teachers with the necessary heuristic tools for the complete nurture of children, has always been the motto of Basava International School, Dwarka. Keeping the same in mind, Principal, Dr.Manimala Roy chalked out a Summer workshop programme for the teachers with a myriad of topics. The agenda kick started with a creative Story telling with voice modulation workshop, by Scholastics .The Work-Life balance session by counsellor Uma Narayan brought a different perspective to personal and professional life. Subject related workshops on Science and Social Science by Ratna Sagar paved a new way to amalgamate those subjects into teaching with sporadic activities and fun learning lab sessions. Teachers were also provided a peek into the world of Numerology and how it can bring a positive change in their lives, by school alumni Numerologist, Ms.Kierti Aggarwal.

Findings of an Action Research conducted by the Primary, Secondary and Senior Secondary teachers on contemporary issues faced by the teachers’ and students’ in today’s educational milieu, were presented in front of eminent judges, Prof.Veena Kapur from SPM College ,DU and Dr.Renu Tomar from National Testing Agency, with the help of audio-visual presentations along with thesis booklets of their findings. Few of the multifarious topics chosen, dealt with ADHD Mirror Traits, Correlation of Discipline and Academic Performance, Aggressiveness among Children, Effects of Screen Time among Children, Adolescence Period of Storm and Stress and Choice of Stream in Class XI-Societal Pressure vs Student Interest/Aptitude.

A workshop about ‘Art in Education’ by Mr.Bhawani Shankar and the Art department of the school, delved on the integration of art and other subjects. The ‘Behavioural Problems’ conclave by Times NIE, equipped the teachers with necessary insight on how to tackle behavioural problems in the classroom deftly. The teachers also thoroughly enjoyed the fitness training sessions with yoga and aerobics by Ms.Bidisha Pal Bansal and Ms.Neelu Bakshi .The Spoon Feed event organised on the last day, for the staff members was the cherry on the icing.
